Palm Sunday @ Rocky Run Church COAT DRIVE "Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. And the crowd that went before him shouted 'Hosanna to the son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!'". Matthew 21:8 We are collecting children's and adults coats to donate to area family services for those who will need to stay warm. If you have new or lightly used jackets or coats and would like to share, bring them by our church and place them under the covered side doors. We will accept coats anytime between now and Easter Sunday. 14925 Glebe Road Rt 646 DeWitt within site of the Rocky Run ballpark Thank you for sharing the love of Christ ❤️.
I admire this man of conviction and principle - and faith! Not many public figures have nailed it like Coach Bennett!
UVa player Kyle Guy calmly stepped to the line and sank 3 last second foul shots, giving the Cavs a 1 point over Auburn. Not a surprise to him -he has spent his whole life practicing for just this moment. What a solid performance! Likewise, we are called to practice our faith. And we do so whenever we gather, whenever we pray, whenever we commune together. So that at the moment it matters most, our relationship with God is solid! We hope that you can visit us at Rocky Run Church as Easter is approaching. All are welcome ❤️ here.
The Message from March 31 "Laetare Sunday" In the Anglican Church, this special Sunday is a pause during the season of Lent. We are exactly 21 days until Easter, and our destination to the Cross is now within reach. Joshua has led the Israelites who have been wandering in the desert for 40 years. They needed a time out, a pause, to reset and refocus - in order to complete their journey. Likewise, we take Laetare Sunday as a halftime, so we too can refocus ourselves for the remaining three weeks of Lent. We are getting so close to Easter. If you need a relationship with God, we invite you to worship with us here at Rocky Run Church. There is a place ❤️ for you here.
A sure sign of the promise of spring - creeping phlox outside the pastor's office! Come and join us at Rocky Run Church as we grow together in the love of Jesus Christ.
The message for March 24th "No Down Payment, E-Z Terms" Isaiah 55 asks us, "Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy?" We worship gods of idolatry which aren't God. It's why we deny ourselves in Lent - we seek the presence of the Lord who alone provides all that we truly need. Come and seek the Lord with us at Rocky Run Church. All are welcome here.
A Great start to our new week!
The Message from Genesis 15 March 17th 🍀 God has promises for Abram, yet Abram stubbornly questions God all along the way. It is a point of faith that we can believe even while questioning. Abram was righteous before the Lord. We don't have to believe without question. But we must be faithful and be of the belief that God will ALWAYS deliver on the promises made. We are in the 2nd week of Lent, our journey together that leads to The Cross. Won't you come walk with us along this rugged path that leads to life? There is a place for you here at Rocky Run Church ❤️.
It's 3/16. Be thankful for the greatest gift ever...
Lent - the season to return to the Lord your God.
The Message from March 10 ''Maybe Mae West Was Right!'' 🤭 In this sermon from Luke 4, we see how relentlessly Jesus was tempted in the desert. And it didn't end there - Luke concluded that the devil left him, to return again at a more opportune time. Do what chance do WE have against temptation? Learn about what to'give up' during this penitent season of Lent. Join us on worship here at Rocky Run Church. There is a place ❤️ for you here.
We have entered the season of Lent - a time for prayer, reflection and repentance as we draw near the Cross.
Don't forget to Spring Forward... Be sure to SHARE this news with your friends.
WHAT ARE YOU "GIVING UP" FOR LENT? Mid-Week Hope 5 Minutes of Inspiration The Season of Lent began last night with celebrations of Ash Wednesday throughout Christian communities. Many people try to give up something - candy, caffeine, tv. But this is not the self denial we seek. By denying our selves, we seek to remove obstacles that prevent us from getting close to God. Join us in this season of intentionally seeking God presence as we we reflect on our mortality and deny what is excess in our lives. There is a place for you ❤️ here at Rocky Run Church. All are welcome.
We gather at Rocky Run Church in DeWitt on Wednesday evening: 6:30 a simple meal of Soup & Bread 7:00 worship service includes marking the ashes and communion 7:30 a new Small Group Study begins with a video series on Simon Peter - on location around Capernaum Join with us as we gather. All are welcome.
Mid-Week Hope Tomorrow, we celebrate the Transfiguration of Jesus. This story is told to us in each of the Gospels, so there must be significance for us. I believe the story reminds us of God's glory - how it is something far greater than us, and it is how God peels away the veil to reveal what truly is. The calmness of Swift Creek Reservoir is pretty at the surface, but witness the glory of the power that is revealed to us after a storm. We worship a God who is far greater than you or me, yet one who teaches out to us through the storms of life to call us his own. Thanks be to God! Come and worship with us at Rocky Run Church ~ there is a place for you here. ❤️
We welcome the sun back into our lives. We welcome the Son into our lives everyday. Join us for worship at Rocky Run Church. There is a place for you here ❤️.
Today in Worship: we celebrated the sacrament of Holy Baptism, and heard scriptures from Joel 2 and Mark 10 telling of children in the kingdom of God. The old testament lesson from Genesis 45 is the story of Joseph and his brothers. It teaches us that God has always been at work for good in our lives. Visit with us at Rocky Run Church sometime soon. There is a place for you here. ❤️
Mid-Week Hope (a couple of days late -sorry) Hey, it's Pastor Bryan, today on location in NC. Enjoy a few moments of inspiration from the organist practicing at Duke Chapel! 😁
